Sleeping thru the night!!!

Yes. It is true!! Our little man is sleeping all night. (ie. 7-8 hours) Mommy and Daddy are soooo excited. It was a long 7 weeks of waking every 2-3 hours throughout the night. But, thanks to the book Babywise, he is on a good schedule now and able to sleep really well.

According to the book, it is important to feed him on a rigid schedule of every 3 hours, even if that means waking him from his nap. This is definitely against everything that is in me, as I believe to "let sleeping babies lie" :), but I went against my grain to try this theory out. I was willing to try it due to the fact that 70-80% of babies can sleep thru the night at 2 months using this method. I figured it was well worth the shot. So, after only one day on this schedule, (eat, play, sleep, repeat) I put him to bed at around 10PM, and low and behold the little stinker slept until 6AM!!! I couldn't believe it. Of course, I had to get up and check his breathing every few hours, so needless to say mommy didn't get too much sleep. That was on January 1st and he has been sleeping like that ever since.

He is such a big boy and growing up too fast. Right now I'm just trying to hang on and enjoy ever moment because it will be gone in a flash. :(

He has a Birthday!!

Well, we found out that our little stinker is breech, which means he is turned the wrong way. (Feet down, instead of head down) So, this means that we'll have to opt for a C-section as the safest way for him to be delivered. Not exactly what we had planned but as long as he is healthy and safe, that is all that matters to us. A bit more recovery time for mom, however. Nothing that some good, strong drugs won't fix. :)

So, our little one has a Birthday set!!! Thursday, November 12th!! We go in at 6 AM and the surgery starts at 8 AM. AHHH!! Now the countdown really begins. Ready or not, here he comes. We are so looking forward to it. (Not the surgery so much) But, can't wait to hold him in our arms and finally tell him how much we love him. :)
